The photo below is a rare view of Volcan Lautaro from the south west, Chile. This photo is sampled from the South Ice Cap Featured Mountain Area in the Patagonia Section of the MSAcd program

Photos appear in 800 by 600 pixel screen resolution with a full screen viewing option and include a Photo Only viewing function.

Section Menu

This screen provides links to the featured mountain areas for the section including a preview image of the mountain and its location on the 3D map.

The 3D map is of the mountain range relevent to the section with a peak location button and the access route to each of the featured peaks.

Featured Mountain Area Sub-Menu

This screen is the starting point to the photo sequences for the featured mountain area. It also carries the text description for the mountain and links to the main climbing routes screen and map.

Climbing Routes

This screen displays the main climbing routes to the featured peak with the normnal route being indicated in red. A pop-up window appears with information on the grade and history of each route.

Photo Sequence

These screens are part of sequences of up to 20 photos capturing various aspects of the climb. There are usually two photo sequences per feature — one on the normal route and one on other routes and nearby peaks.

Map

Each featured mountain area includes a map screen that may be accessed from any other screen. The map clearly presents approach imformation and includes a scale.
